I’m excited to see the J Hopper Wooden Clinker sculler built by my uncle Sid Radley in 1956, one of six he built for the DOGGETTS for £100 each at the V Radley and sons boat yard, is now installed in the RRMs boat gallery.
It was originally called the Maxwell. Roger Bean and myself have donated the sculler to the RRM. Roger was the original restorer of the Hopper and sculled it for a while. Bill Colley based at Richmond did the final restoration.
The official unveiling will be taking place on Monday 27th March.
